Breast Implant Revision
Breast implants frequently require revision for various reasons, such as dissatisfaction with size, shape, or positioning. Over time, implants can harden and potentially become painful, especially following long-term placement or after undergoing radiotherapy for breast cancer. Breast revision surgery can be performed shortly after the initial implantation or many years later. The procedure often involves removing both the implant and the capsule that forms around it, with options for replacement including new implants or alternative forms of reconstruction, such as autologous reconstruction using tissue from other parts of the body.
